Au Canada, tout le monde mérite d’avoir accès à l’activité physique<\/a> et au sport. Partout au pays, des milliers d’organisations communautaires continuent de nous inspirer grâce à leurs initiatives novatrices et inclusives de sport et d’activité physique. Ces leaders communautaires offrent des occasions à tout le monde de faire place au mouvement et, surtout, de favoriser un sentiment d’appartenance.  <\/span><\/p>\n

Les organismes communautaires, comme les clubs sportifs, les centres communautaires, les écoles, les entreprises locales et bien d’autres, sont le moteur du Défi Ensemble, on bouge de ParticipACTION, présenté par Novo Nordisk<\/a> — une initiative nationale de sport et d’activité physique qui encourage tout le monde à bouger durant le mois de juin dans le but de couronner la communauté la plus active au Canada, qui remportera 100 000 $ pour des projets locaux de sport et d’activité physique.  <\/span><\/p>\n

Nous nous sommes récemment entretenus avec les personnes représentantes de deux organisations communautaires qui aident à réduire les barrières à l’activité physique et au sport en participant au défi de juin : Durham Alliance Outreach<\/span><\/a> (DAO) et le Centre de ressources pour l’autisme d’Upper Valley<\/span><\/a> (UVARC). Lisez la suite pour en découvrir davantage sur les programmes prometteurs que ces organisations ont préparés pour le défi.  <\/span><\/p>\n

DAO<\/b> est un organisme administré par des bénévoles qui s’engage à répondre aux besoins en constante évolution de la communauté 2ELGBTQQIA+ de la région de Durham, en Ontario. DAO offre des conférences et des ateliers transformateurs qui mettent l’accent sur les compétences de vie fondamentales, comme la confiance en soi, l’assurance et la communication. <\/span><\/p>\n

UVARC<\/b> est un organisme communautaire sans but lucratif dont le mandat est de fournir du soutien, des ressources, des services et de l’information aux individus, aux familles, aux proches et aux professionnel·le·s à Perth-Andover, au Nouveau-Brunswick, qui vivent avec des troubles du spectre de l’autisme, ou qui côtoient des personnes qui en sont atteintes.<\/span><\/p>\n

« C’est en écoutant les voix de la communauté que l’idée nous est venue », a dit <\/span>Jayme<\/span>. « De nombreuses personnes de la communauté <\/span>2ELGBTQQIA+<\/span> nous ont dit que les <\/span>milieux<\/span> traditionnels d’entraînement physique sont souvent peu accueillants pour elles ou tout simplement dangereux. Nous avions envie de renverser la situation et d’offrir un espace qui est axé sur la joie queer, encourage le mouvement sans jugement et remet en question les normes sociales <\/span>quant à l’identité des personnes qui ont accès à l’activité physique<\/span>. L’art du drag, qui est audacieux, expressif et dont les racines <\/span>sont ancrées<\/span> dans la résistance, nous semblait le véhicule parfait pour mener ce mouvement. »<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

« Drag Queen Moves est gratuit, accessible et conçu pour éliminer les barrières économiques, sociales et culturelles », a dit Jayme. « L’évènement permet aussi d’aborder les problèmes de l’isolement social (en particulier chez les jeunes queers et les adultes plus âgé·e·s de la communauté), du manque d’espaces d’entraînement physique inclusifs et des effets négatifs de l’exclusion sur la santé mentale. »  <\/span><\/p>\n

« Les personnes participantes auront l’occasion de développer des compétences importantes, comme la conscience corporelle, l’assurance, l’expression créative et la capacité à tisser des liens avec la communauté. Ces compétences ont un effet d’entraînement positif : se sentir bien dans son corps peut mener à une meilleure estime de soi, à une santé mentale plus forte et à un engagement plus significatif dans d’autres aspects de la vie, que ce soit au sein des cercles sociaux, dans le milieu de travail ou dans le cadre d’évènements communautaires futurs. Drag Queen Moves, c’est plus que de l’activité physique, c’est un évènement qui permet de reprendre nos espaces, de renforcer sa confiance et d’être là pour autrui. » <\/span><\/p>\n

« Nos évènements de géocach<\/span>ing<\/span> vont aider les adultes vivant avec un trouble du spectre de l’autisme à améliorer leurs aptitudes sociales, qui souvent ne leur viennent pas naturellement, en les regroupant avec d’autres personnes qui ont des champs d’intérêt semblables », a dit Cathy. « L’activité leur donnera aussi l’occasion de profiter des merveilleux sentiers, parcs et jardins du Nouveau-Brunswick. »<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Lorsque vient le temps de bouger durant le <\/span><\/span>Défi Ensemble, on bouge<\/span><\/span><\/a>, il n’y a pas de paramètres établis. Que vous preniez part à un entraînement de soccer, à une séance d’<\/span>aquaforme<\/span>, ou que vous sortiez pour une promenade à pied ou en fauteuil dans votre quartier, tout <\/span>mouvement <\/span>compte! L’objectif principal est de trouver des manières inclusives et accessibles <\/span>d’avoir<\/span> du plaisir et de bouger avec votre communauté. Ce mois de juin, votre organisation est-elle prête à faire place au mouvement?<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

« Nous allons initier les adultes vivant avec un trouble du spectre de l’autisme au géocaching<\/span><\/a>, une activité en plein air durant laquelle les personnes participantes utilisent un système de localisation GPS pour cacher et trouver des contenants appelés “géocaches” dans des endroits marqués par des coordonnées », a expliqué Cathy Adams, directrice de l’UVARC. « Nous allons former de petits groupes, puis partir en randonnée. Durant celles-ci, les personnes participantes vont localiser les géocaches et laisser des articles spéciaux à l’intérieur des contenants pour le prochain groupe de personnes qui les trouveront. Nous allons aussi les aider à fabriquer leurs propres géocaches et ensuite à les cacher. <\/span><\/p>\n
